The New Moon this month is in the sign of Cancer. Cancer is a cardinal water sign which means that it is often ruled by emotions and these emotions spur people into action.

The eclipse energy will last at least 2 weeks before and 6 months after the actual eclipse. The Eclipse happens one day before the Summer Solstice. The eclipse can not be seen from North America but will occur directly over China.

When we take a look at Cancer energy it is nurturing, it needs a safe space, shelter, sensitive, intuitive, putting boundaries in place, and mothering energy. If we take a look at the crab it has a hard shell that protects a soft and sensitive interior. Cancer also represents your homeland so we can expect to see changes there.

When an Eclipse falls in the sign of Cancer we want to pay attention and be prepared within our homes to what nurtures us. Food is especially something to pay attention to. Make sure that you are prepared for at least a month in case there is a problem with the farming, food systems, or grocery stores.

This is our second eclipse this month and it is a powerful one! One of the more powerful ones we have seen in a long time.
Here are some of the reasons it is so powerful:

• It sits extremely close to the North Node (known as the dragon’s head)
• It is at a global point, which means that this eclipse will affect the world as a whole.
• It is at a critical cardinal degree, which means it will really get things started, change is a given.
• It is ruled by the moon since it is in the sign of cancer.

The last time there was a Solar Eclipse at 0 degrees of Cancer was June 21, 2001. This is the eclipse that is tied to the Terror attacks in the U.S on the World Trade Center. The last time there was an eclipse before that was in the 1800’s.
I am not saying that we should expect such an event but when we look at Astrology we look at the past as much as the present and future to watch the cycles. 

​This eclipse really wants us to focus on the future and let go of the past. Our old beliefs and the way we used to do things are no longer useful to us. If we hold on too tightly to the past it will be extremely uncomfortable.

​There is a mistrust in authority. There is a strong grasp of gaining control, maybe too much control over others.  More than ever this aspect lights up and shows us our fears. It is important to look at them and work with them. 
​

​Mars energy is intense, it’s dynamic. It represents fighting and wars, it represents courage and the urge to push forward at all costs.
When this eclipse makes aspects to mars we can expect to see people wanting things and wanting them NOW. There is lots of “fight” when it is a hard aspect like a square.  There is this energy of rolling up your sleeves and being ready to jump into action. We will see lots of people fighting for social injustice and I think lately we have seen this eclipse energy already begin to play out with the protests. When Mars squares the sun there is often a fight against authority. Adding in the element of the moon means that emotions are extremely high and a lot of the movement comes from that deep, passionate, highly emotional charged place.

​This eclipse and the one earlier in the month both formed squares to Mars. Mars will move into the sign of Aries on June 27th. Mars is in rulership when it is in the sign of Aries and so it gives Mars even more pure Martian type energy. What are some of the things Mars rules over?

Mars will be spending extra time in its own sign of Aries because it will Retrograde here Sept 9, 2020.

The Moon is out of Bounds during this New Moon. The Moon is already unpredictable enough on it's own. When it goes out of bounds it's energy is even more unpredictable. Watch your moods and emotions. Take time for yourself if you find yourself getting worked up. 
​

Neptune will go Retrograde soon after this eclipse. Make sure that you are not dealing with hard situations or emotions by checking out into fantasy land. If you are someone who has issues with drugs or alcohol really try and check yourself because things can really get out of hand with all of these energies. 
​

Mercury went Retrograde a few days before the eclipse happened. It is retrograde in Cancer just like the eclipse is in Cancer. When we look at Mercury we can see that it is ruling over Venus right now as Venus is in Gemini. Venus is also Retrograde. So we have a lot of time and energy to really go over and re-do a lot of things that need to be set in better motion. 

Venus will be going Direct very soon though, 2 days after Neptune turns Retrograde. 

On June 5th there is a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse at 15 degrees of Sagittarius at 3:12pm

Lunar Eclipses occur during a Full Moon. The Lunar Eclipse will be visible if you are in Africa, the Middle East, southern Asia, and Australia. A Lunar eclipse represents a process of transformation and will show you where change is needed. Take a look and see where 15 degrees of Sagittarius falls in your own chart to see how it will personally affect you. 

Eclipse Energy
Throughout June and July we are having 3 Eclipses. We are leaving the old eclipse energy behind and beginning a new cycle. The next two eclipses will occur in Cancer and Capricorn and that will be the last of those eclipses for that eclipse season. The energy from this eclipse occurs about 6 weeks before the Eclipse and up to 6 months after. This eclipse is happening in Sagittarius which is a mutable fire sign. Let's look at some of the things that Sagittarius rules over; Sagittarius seeks the truth so with this energy occurring during an eclipse you can expect some truths to finally come to light. Sagittarius is also the sign of the adventurer and seeker. It also has to do with foreign countries and foreign politics, law and scientific institutions. 

This also means that the sun is opposing this full moon in the sign of Gemini. When you have these two energies opposing each other you have scattered pieces of information vs. the whole picture. You may think you have all of the information and the facts but you actually don't. It represents knowledge vs wisdom, just because you believe something to be true doesn't equal true wisdom. 

T-Square
The Sun and the Moon also create a square with mars which creates a T-square. Mars is all about action and rushing into things without much thought, fighting, and wars. Mars also represents courage and a lot of energy. Mars is in the sign of Pisces so there is a lot of emotion tied to it. T-Squares represent tension and consist of an opposition and 2 squares. The apex of this T-square is mars which leads to a lot of action. It is a mutable T-square which can lend to a nervous type of energy and unrest. There is also a T-square with Neptune which really adds a sense of illusion. Neptune is also known to really push boundaries and rules. Once again it brings in an emotional energy.

Sun Opposes the Moon and Conjuncts and Parallels Venus
You may really begin to notice the lack of physical touch and affection. There is a desire to protect and care for those that mean a lot to you. 
This aspect can also show a peace at any price type of energy, which you really need to be careful what you wish for. 

Mercury Sextile Uranus
You can see the protest type of energy here. Uranus is about civil unrest and wanted freedom and change. Mercury is about communication and having your message heard. You do need to be careful with Mercury here as it is out of bounds and can get carried away and cross lines very quickly.
